Hi, I’m Henna a mum of two, a teacher, and now the founder of The Bairns.

When I became a mum for the first time, I was hit hard by something no one prepares you for the loneliness. The days felt endless, the nights even longer, and I found it incredibly difficult to connect with other new parents. That isolation, mixed with postpartum anxiety and depression, made those early months some of the toughest of my life.

Now, as a mum of two, I knew something had to change — not just for me, but for every parent who’s ever felt like that.

So, I built the space I desperately needed back then.

Welcome to The Bairns

The Bairns is a play café designed for parents and their little ones with every detail thought through from lived experience.

  • A space to connect. No cliques, no awkward vibes - just good coffee, safe play, and the chance to finish a full sentence with another adult.

  • A space to feel seen. We know it takes a village, and not everyone has one. That’s why we’re here - to help you build yours.

  • A space for your bairns. Every toy, layout and activity has been designed for under 5s to explore safely, independently and developmentally.
